Campaign for Affordable Organic Living
The panic about the survival of our planet and our future generations has claimed a boost in ecological, sustainable and more social living. Organic food as a substitute for non-organic food, including the substantial increase in organic convenience food and imported food, is becoming more popular and thus more available. Every area of our living is being touched by our ecological fears: from eco-friendly house building to travelling. Yet, we have to admit that most of the new products that have been changed in order to meet new “green” standards are still expensive and therefore difficult to implement into our daily lives. In fact, when it comes to the question of what we do to help our environment actively, figures show that 90% of us feel forced to lie in order to sound more eco-friendly than we really are. This is shocking and shows that we feel the need for change, yet most of us cannot afford many of these newly available products.
Baby’s Best has now started a “Campaign for Affordable Organic Living” and offers a range of affordable organic Baby Basics. With the help of Baby’s Best, organic clothing is another step closer to becoming widely available and more affordable.
The “Campaign for Affordable Organic Living” is hoping to attract other retailers of organic clothing to help make their products affordable and thus increase consumer choice. "We all talk about creating a more eco-friendly environment," said Tina Rychlik in a recent interview, "but it's difficult for the majority of parents to put this into practice as long as organic products remain such an expensive alternative. Organic clothing should be made affordable and available. Provision of safe and sustainable clothing for everyone is the future so we may as well start with the most important people.”
Our purchasing decision has the ability to force production methods to change. After all, cotton production with the use of hazardous agrochemicals has only been in use since the 1950s which means that we have been able to successfully grow organic cotton for some 5000 years before.
Baby’s Best understand that organic products can be an expensive alternative which most of us cannot afford, especially in the face of rising costs of food and the recent increase in gas and electricity charges. This is why we campaign for organic clothing to become more affordable. We hope that other retailers will follow suit in order to help customers make a positive impact with their buying decision. Make a change for the better!
