night time sleeping
I'm having real probelms getting my 2 month old to settle for more than one hour at a time at night. Does anyone have any tips that will help settle her?
Hi there. That sounds like a naughty one! Are you still breastfeeding? If yes, your little one may still be hungry a lot of the times. Maybe you haven't got enough milk left. How is it during the day? If it is just as bad I guess your baby is still hungry. If she/he is better during the day does he sleep a lot then? There is never a straight forward answer. I had real problems with mine and it turned out that I jsut didn't have enough milk left. I managed to get him through for 5 months but it was tough! Let me know how you're getting on.
thanks for the suggestion. A friend has suggested trying a book called the Contented Baby. Do you think such a formal routine will help? Also, its been suggested that Calpol might help. Do you have any thoughts?
Personally I have a rule for sleeping babies - I'm a mother of 3. For each of them if my milk has not been enough, I have given them a bottle before bedtime and this has done wonders. With my number 3, she often wakes at night because she has kicked the blankets off. But a routine is a fabulous idea with lots going on in the day so that they learn to be tired at night. Good luck!
I would certainly not try the Calpol option! That should be left to times when it is really necessary! I find it disastrous that there are soooo many e-numbers in baby's medicine. Wasn't there something on the news about this scandal? about 6 months ago? It isn't right to expose our little ones to chemicals already - especially when they really need care and no cr..! I really don't understand it considering that there are very tight regulations with baby food...
